True bonds has always been hard to form, but once formed such bonds are eternal and hard to break. My original version was created with this image in mind, but the puzzle was completed into a cast puzzle with a bond that is truly difficult to unravel. How would you go about breaking and forming this bond? There are two approaches to this puzzle and I challenge you to both! The key word is "Bond."

Really cool piece. I had just solved the Radix (I say some loosely— took more than a day, ended up cheating a bit), and I was feeling a bit deterred jumping up to a 6 like this. I studied a bit, fiddled with it a little on a bus ride, then without even realizing, I had it in a position where it appeared I might be a couple steps away from solving it. Took me about five minutes to get it there, pocketed it so I could fully focus on it at home. From there, it took about two minutes and a couple moves to get one piece off. The rest is fairly simple from there. Even while closely studying how it came apart, it wasn’t easy to reassemble. I think it took half an hour or so to get it back to the original position. I sorta lost track of time because of how difficult reassembly was. It was challenging, but not frustrating. Feels great in the hand, looks amazing, and is definitely an adequate challenge. More difficult than other 6s like News, Chain, or Infinity— I feel it’s a nice preparation for the 6s like Trinity, Enigma, and Vortex. Aside from Hourglass, those are the last three 6s I have to solve.

This is yet another masterpiece anyone should get their hands on. I feel based on matter of perspective, the puzzle will either be moderately difficult or among the toughest to complete. It really depends on the angle you look at the puzzle. If you want a hint, solving this will be similar to solving Trinity. It wasn’t a hard puzzle for me but definitely challenging initially. I can see several creative solutions for taking it apart and putting it together. So there is replay value with this puzzle as well, depending on how you want to solve it.

~5 minutes to get apart ~5 hours to get back together. Very satisfying puzzle to complete, doesn't feel like a lot of moves, just needs to be the right moves. Box says it has 2 solutions and I'm sure I put it back together different from how it came apart.

It was a fun puzzle to break down, and I don't know about everyone else, but putting it back together was the hardest part.

Thinking that Iw as purchasing the Hanayama Cast Coil (easier than tis one), I ended up purchasing this one. First, let me state that it intentionally doesn't come apart easily, like some of the other metal puzzles, allowing you to reverse engineer the solution. Second, once you have it apart, good luck ever getting it back together. I tried for over 4 days, playing with different techniques, assemblages, etc., but never got close. Sadly, my wife thought that my frustration level was too high, and threw this one away. :( So, I'll go on other's reviews to tell me how great this one is/was. For me, it's merely a fond memory.

Interesting design, but not one of my favorites. After finally getting it apart, I cannot get it back together.

While some report this being easy, it has been very difficult for me. I have played with it on and off for months and it is still together. I have it so twisted that I cannot even get back to the start. Don't think of this as a bad thing, I have trouble fining puzzles that take a long time to figure out. The only negative I see is the smaller size make it a little difficult to work with, but don't let that stop you from trying it.

A lot of eye candy when you realize you can make a large square out of the two parts once you disassemble it. It took me a year to get it back together. Toughest one out there save for News, which I think is an unfair puzzler.

This thing is pure work of art! It has few states, assembled it to second state (which looks extremely cool) so easily and just out of nowhere. Was very surprised to find this solution and extremely pleased with the puzzle! Great!

Great puzzle. Love the starting shape. Solved it within 30 minutes from mindless tinkering. Although, putting it back together is the hard part

Finally got it back together after a year of tinkering with it. Without a doubt the most difficult Hanayama puzzle I have ever solved.

This is my most favourite Hanayama cast puzzle (at least for now from the ones I got)! I could write a novel for me and it. I just managed to solve it completely - the second form that could be created from the four parts is so logical! And assembling and disassembling the first form (shown on the screenshot above) is indeed very hard. I still have difficulties putting it back together. Summing it up: a GREAT puzzle!

I really enjoy this puzzle. I've had it for 3 days, and I've been playing with it off and on. I got the pieces apart in about 20 minutes, purely by chance. Now I'm trying to reassemble them using logic. It's a tough puzzle that should keep seasoned puzzlers entertained for hours. Highly recommended!

this thing is a MARVEL. It feals beautiful in the hand, It looks wonderful. Solid weight and build. and is worthy of the lvl 6 difficulty. I spent over a day taking it apart. and had to cheat to get it back together. I d not see this being the type of puzzel to share, or bring to an event.the difficulty crosses the "too hard" boundry. I am looking at another couple days before I can actualy figure out how I got it apart and back together. the 2ndary assembled form is pretty cool.

I'm not usually into puzzles but i got this one for birthday so i gave it a try and i loved it. This is really amazing puzzle. It took me days to disassemble it and when I got it apart i couldn't put it back together. this is not one of those puzzles where if you got them apart you know how to put them together. It took me even longer to assemble it than it took to take apart. Great puzzle!

Not really fond of this one. The only way you can do this without cheating is just by luck pulling the pieces in the right direction. Not really a puzzle, just trying lots of times.

I was actually able to undo this puzzle in 20 minutes. I was so into it that I even forgot how long I spent on it. I love it, difficult, fun, elegant, and the construction itself is not too complex. In my opinion a good puzzle has few peices yet is very difficult to solve. This is a must have.

This is the hardest puzzle i have ever solved. It took me around 1h to put it apart, then about 15 min to put it to alternative assembly-method. The hardest part was to put it back again to original starting point. After 4h during 3 days, I put it on the shelf and forgot about it. I tried 3 more times, but finally i put it back after around 4 months after disassembling it took me another 4 hours. It has two ways of disasembling it (maybe more), I put it apart with one, and assembled it again in second way.

If there was a 11 Stars rating, this surely would be the winner - for frustration! Oh sure, fiddling around with it in front of TV, it literally fell apart and hour or two later. But that wasn't even near the half-way point. Consider it an introduction! There are multiple solutions. Multiple dead-ends. And you're faced with dilemma of turning the large square back into the two links... In hindsight should have paid attention during disassembly. After several extremely frustrating nights working through commercials and even the whole movie, still got nowhere. By 5am resorted to youtube, but the pieces kept binding and refused to give up, driving me insane. But in the end, when placed in the exact correct positions, the pieces do indeed seem to melt together or flow apart. Truly beautiful. PS: Definition of insanity is repeating actions expecting different result. If claiming insanity in criminal case, can use video footage of attempt to put Quartet together as evidence.

There's something really elegant about the clean look of this puzzle. It looks equally cool when together and apart in four pieces. This one took me many hours to complete. As others have said, taking it apart is tricky but reasonable. However, getting it back together is where the frustration really begins. There was one moment where I could swear I had to force it more than I should have, but sure enough, that's how it worked. Even after solving this one, I have doubts that I could easily do it again. I'm almost afraid to take it apart again! One of my favorite puzzles.

This is one of those great puzzles that is more challenging to put together than to break.(pay attention when dis-assembling!!) The pictures provided don't show that there are two assembled versions. The two linked squares, or one large square. I have 5&6 star Hanayamas that I've solved in hours or even minutes, but this one has had me stumped for days. Good value for diehard puzzlers.
