Product Info
The mystery of Brainstring Original isn’t just how to untie a twisted ‘knot’ of strings in the center, but how it can be that all its strings can be interchanged—WITHOUT creating a knot! Four groups of different colored strings, four strings per group, moving up, down and around all six sides of a polycarbonate shell…beyond just tying or untying a knot, what kind of beautiful symmetries can you create? Brainstring Original isn’t just a puzzle—it’s a work of art.
The main goal is to move the coloured buttons from hole-to-hole to create a solid color on every side and untangle the knot in the middle.

It is similar to the other iterations even though the Brainstring R is my favorite due to being able to rotate it to form the knots. This is fun not a Level 8 but it is also nice to look at.
I've already reviewed this, but after playing with the toy for a few weeks, I've discovered it's VERY EASY to solve. But I still think it's a very original design and looks really neat.
I ordered this on a whim, not sure if it was too childish for me. It's awesome! It's a lot of fun, and, as it says on the box, it would be great for a long car ride. It takes careful reasoning and some trial and error to untangle the cords. The puzzle looks really cool with the three coloured cords running through the clear case. I was very hesitant to scramble up the cords, as there is no solution available, obviously. I asked my wife to make 5 moves to scramble it a little. I got it back a minute later with a nasty looking Gordion knot in the puzzle for me to solve. (I think she made more than 5 moves). I sweated over it for a while but got it back to the original configuration. And I'm going to try it again right now!
